This post discusses research associated with penis size, the stigmas surrounding it and the statistics of the penis sizes in the MENA. It also highlights the issues with all the ‘average size’ research, myths regarding penile implants and the dependancy of pleasure on the size of the organ.
Some say it’s all about the size; others say no. But as with a lot of things in this life, usually it boils down to personal taste. For whatever reason though, men everywhere are fixated on their penis sizes and love to compare them whichever way they could find. [1]
Not only regular men are interested in this comparison though. Measuring more than 15,000 men's penises, scientists from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and King's College London sought to determine what size is "normal". The average flaccid (means not excited) penis shown in this study is 9.16 cm long, 13.24 cm when erect and 11.66 cm in circumference.
For those, who want to see a global comparison, the World Population Review did a great job collecting and visualising data on it. But let us have a closer look at what country in the MENA region boasts the biggest average penis size.
Here is the ranked list of 14 countries in the reverse order [2]:
14. 🇮🇶 Iraq: Length(L): 11.55 cm, Circumference (C): 11.73 cm
13. 🇰🇼 Kuwait: L: 12.38, C: 10.87
12. 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia L: 12.4, C: 11.61
11. 🇶🇦 Qatar L: 12.4 C: 11.68
10. 🇾🇪 Yemen L: 12.7 C: 10.89
9. 🇧🇭 Bahrain L: 12.9 C 11.19
8. 🇴🇲 Oman L: 12.87 C: 11.34
7. 🇯🇴 Jordan L: 13.5 C: 11.89
6. 🇩🇿 Algeria L: 13.69 C: 11.42
5. 🇱🇾 Libya L: 13.74 C: 11.68
4. 🇪🇬 Egypt L: 13.85 C: 12.11
3. 🇹🇳 Tunisia L: 15.01 C: 11.76
2. 🇲🇦 Morocco L: 15.03 C: 11.01
1. 🇱🇧 Lebanon L: 16.82 C: 12.39
Okay, now that we got numbers out of the question, let us focus on a more important topic: why almost all of these studies are incorrect and why you should not focus on them.
The first reason is that in the majority of the studies the data is self reported. Self-reported data is imprecise as it can be subject to personal measurement bias from the participants. The World Population Review also mentions that even when done in the lab, the studies of this nature might attract volunteers with larger than average sizes, as in a lot of places men attach a false sense of importance to the penis size and might want to volunteer more eagerly for such type of research. [2]
Secondly, for any global ratings of such nature it might be tricky to collect standardized and uniform data from all the countries in the MENA region, let alone the world. A lot of studies use different methods, data processing techniques and lack standardised methods of measurement.
Finally, when researches establish the average size of the penis, they include a standard deviation in the measurement. That means that the penis size of the vast majority of men globally is 11.46-14.78cm. [1] And, research reports that for a lot of women the width is more important than length. [3] Considering the width is more uniform across the countries than length, you should not worry too much.
Regarding sex, penis size actually makes no difference. It has no bearing on desirability, utility, or health. To have sex, pee, or breed, a penis does not need to be large. Size just counts as much as you allow it. As per the research, women themselves mention that they are content with the penis sizes that are not too different from the average, and that their pleasure not necessarily depends on the size of the penis. [4, 5]
Both men and women are often unhappy with their genitalia in one aspect or another. [6, 7] Anxiety about your penis size is most likely unwarranted and can rob you of the pleasure of intimacy with your partner.
A lot of men would still wonder: can I make it bigger? Especially after seeing a lot of fake ads promising to double your penis size. The true answer is: yes, you can enlarge it, but most of the techniques at hand only provide a transient and insignificant boost in size. And very important note: unless your urologist gives you a medical advice based on some underlying medical condition, we absolutely advise against the magical methods advertised online, including pills and oils, which can injure your penis and bring more harm than good.
Some of the more often used penile enhancement techniques that are relatively safe are the following:
In the bedroom as much as anywhere, confidence is more important than anything for satisfaction. And of course there are some ways to try and boost it — below the belt or otherwise:
Penises range in shape and size. Regarding size, most of them fall into the average range, and the size has little influence on what it can achieve or the enjoyment you may obtain and offer from it. Should the studies fail to offer the required validation, think about discussing your issues with a specialist.
Here at Laymune, we advise you not to pay attention to unverified online stories. Your penis size is irrelevant. What counts most is to have the correct knowledge and open conversation with your partner. We also advise talking about problems that call for medicine or surgical implants with qualified medical experts.
